Trivia Moment: When seniors graduate from Digital Harbor and other public high schools where do you think they go? College, work, military, nowhere? Yes, yes, yes and, unfortunately, yes - eventually. But first many of them head to the beach in Ocean City, MD, for seven days of celebratory glee, called Senior Week. Some graduates venture even farther from the nest, going all the way to Myrtle Beach for Senior Week in Myrtle Beach. |

The Baltimore City Public School System (official name) has charge of the education for approximately just under a hundred thousand of Baltimore's school children. The Baltimore public school system maintains about 175+/- schools in all neighborhoods of our city. Two representative Baltimore public school Web sites are: Francis Scott Key Technology Magnet E/M School, which focuses on instructional technology; and The Baltimore City College (whoops, sorry if it is no longer there--a change in administration must have cut the budget--and lost the domain to an advertising page.), a high school with a strong liberal arts focus. There are some other good public schools in Baltimore, but unfortunately, only a few have been provided with Web sites by the school system. A few other schools that have Web sites, seem to have created them on their own. Coppin State College - 2500 W. Coppin offers 21 majors and 11 graduate-degree programs. A fully accredited urban, residential campus, Coppin serves Baltimore residents as well as students from around the world, with flexible course schedules that include convenient day, evening, and weekend classes.

* MSPAP is no longer a benchmark for Maryland Schools. The Maryland State Department of Education dropped the MSPAP testing program the year after Baltimore City Public Schools demonstrated large performance increases and the "rest of the state" did not advance. Hmmmmmmm... |
